RIP Hunter S. Thompson

Playful musings, 3rd rate psychiatric evaluations, and more (or less).

RIP Hunter S. Thompson

Unread postby andu » Mon Feb 21, 2005 10:23 pm

We lost a great writer yesterday in Hunter S. Thompson. A lot of us know his work in volume, and a lot of us know him by only Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Either way, he was great and will be missed. If you are lookin for something to read, check out his Rum Diary. It doesn't have the stereotypical drug wackyness that he is "known for."

Thanks,

Andu

Kinda wild actually! I had a hunch that would happen to me... He demanded two topics in his afterlife!

i sure to hate to see anyone leaving this world in such a violent way. he certainly left a mark on our generation. i remember him mostly when R.S. was actually cool to read.

Hopefully they do a decent tribute to him. Not a lame-o column from Will.I.Am or Usher on HST's impact on their lives. I hope it's at least fitting for all the work he did for them and all the deadlines he did or didn't meet.

cross-dressing, guns, drugs, cannons, lipstick.

when it's all over, what else is there to do but end it?
