Red Red Meat (s/t first album)

Unread postby Nervous John » Fri Jun 04, 2004 4:41 pm

A long time ago, before this board was reset or whatever, Tim hinted that the first Red Red Meat album would be re-released with some extras and maybe some DVD-type stuff.

Any news on this? I know they have been busy with touring and making four albums of new material in the last two years . . . and constantly touring, so I'm not really expecting that it will be ready . . . but does any one know if a re-release is still in the works?

Perhaps if we all chant "RED RED MEAT" in unison, the fine folks at Perishable will give us an update.

All together now:

"RED- RED- MEAT!"
"RED- RED- MEAT!"
"RED- RED- MEAT!"
"RED- RED- MEAT!"
"RED- RED- MEAT!"
I wish I was a mole in the ground.

I've been waiting patiently as well. I picked up a Perishable CD sampler at one of the shows. I realized it's been a while since I've listened to those first 2 RRM albums. They've been in heavy rotation since. Don't get me wrong, I prefer a new Califone CD any day. But hearing the live Califone mp3s (thanks merv!) makes me want some RRM.

Another thought, since there are so many excellent recordings of Califone shows, maybe Perishable would consider releasing a few on CD?

i found a promo of the first album a month ago at a salvation army store...on CD!!! i don't have any red red meat, so i figured, what the hey...for two dollars, i can't lose. i had no idea it's so hard to find.

in fact, the insert says that it's going to be re-released with extra tracks...in 1999 or 2000 or something.

i know...i'm not being helpful.

Did I miss the rerelease or did they find some lost stash of the old release? At least it seems like you can still order the first RRM album on CD from SubPop by just following the link in the pastrysharp discography:

Just a post to to reiterate that I'd love to get my hands on a copy of this album, and that I'd prefer to give my money to the band rather than to some seller on eBay. . .

But, agan, I can be patient.
