Califone plays the Stones

Unread postby wireshy » Fri Oct 12, 2007 9:45 pm

I seemed to have lost my only copy of a live recording of Califone covering the Rolling Stones. If anyone has a copy of this please let me know. I thought it was incredible. Some of the songs include "Rocks Off", "Street Fighting Man" and I believe "Ventilator Blues".

Thanks

Is this the same concert from which the cut of Ventilator Blues on their discography page comes from? 'Cause if so, I want that concert.

I don't know if the band is still selling copies of Knub You Knive, but that's nothing but Stones tunes in nifty hand made sleeves.

I saw about 50 copies of "Knub You Knive" in the safe over the weekend. I went to get one of my own since mine is missing too. And I recorded the darn thing...

No covers are available, and I bet sales of these will be up to Tim and only at shows

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The show this past weekend was a lot of fun...they played about fourty minutes and had a few unfamiliar faces up on stage the setlist was something like (I never wrote it down, and havent tried to listening later so this is from memory) Street Fighting Man, Ventalator blues, Turd on the Run#, Rocks Off, No Expectations, Miss you, Bitch #new stones cover
I was able to record the show in entirety, i used a fostex digital eight track and recorded with two shure sm58 mics. I would love to set up some trades with you all, the only live califone i have is the middle east show, so i would like anything else. If you dont have live califone to trade i will be more than happy to do a b&p. The versions are relatively different from the knub u knife stuff too, a lot of stage banter. Tim broke like four strings!

thats where i got my copy from
